Apple Chips

by Chef Carlyle Watt

Ingredients

    1 Gala Apple
(We like organic Gala Apples as their size fits nicely on a mandolin, also they seem to not get mushy and crips well when baked.)
    1 tsp Bakers Sugar
(Bakers Sugar is fine and spreads well.)
    1/8 tsp Cinnamon
    Cooking Spray
(Pam works well or better yet, use a Misto and fill it with Canola oil.)

How to Make It

Adjust mandolin to 1/16" thickness. Slice bottom of apples off so that you have a flat surface. Leave skins on and core be.
Slice a few slices until you see the seeds, use knife and remove seeds, continue slicing.
Grease baking tray with non-stick cooking spray. Heat oven to 225 degrees F.
Lay apple slices on baking tray.
Mix sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle over apples. Bake for 1 hour then turn apple slices over and continue baking for 45 minutes.
Take out of oven and cool. Apple slices crisp as they cool. A great healthy snack!
